FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington, DC, January 6, 2024 — EL'ona Kearney, a dedicated advocate for fair representation and voter integrity, officially announces her candidacy for the position of governor. Kearney, a prominent Black Democrat, believes in hearing from both sides and uncovering the truth. Her campaign will focus on promoting transparency, protecting voting rights, and bringing unity to our state.
One pivotal moment in Kearney's journey came during the 2020 election. As controversy arose the morning after the voting deadline, she personally checked the status of her vote using her voter stub. To her surprise, she discovered that her vote, along with others she knew, had not been counted, despite voting early. Recognizing the importance of every vote, Kearney diligently followed up on a daily basis.
After encountering technical difficulties with the ballot tracker, which was offline for two weeks, Kearney was disheartened to find that her vote had been erroneously marked as counted on the deadline, contrary to her knowledge. Determined to shed light on the situation, she responded to a solicitation email to witness evidence being revealed on the Capitol lawn, and she traveled to Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021.
Unbeknownst to Kearney, the events that unfolded that day took an unexpected turn. While sitting across the street from the Capitol building, awaiting the staging of the event, she received alarming text messages and phone calls, inquiring about her safety. Live news coverage was broadcasting a takeover at the Capitol. Kearney captured valuable footage and witnessed a side of the story that has yet to be fully told.
Kearney will release her exclusive video, with her untold version of events, on her social media. Her commitment to transparency and uncovering the truth aligns with her vision for a more inclusive and accountable government.
EL'ona Kearney's candidacy for governor stands on the pillars of bipartisanship, voter integrity, and unity. By addressing the issues that affect us all and seeking common ground, Kearney aims to bridge the gap between parties and create a stronger, more representative state government.
