When elected, I will respect the position as a leader accountable to voters who hire me, not as a ruler over people. I seek to ensure Washington's citizens can pursue those unalienable rights endowed by their Creator: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness

Life

  • Experiencing Homelessness
I will work with organizations, businesses, and others passionate about ending our homeless crisis. There are different categories of homelessness: chronic, episodic, and temporary. We need approaches that appropriately address each type of experience.

  • Cost of Living
Let's strategize with all stakeholders about mitigating the cost of living. Taxes are high because we heavily rely on one of the nation's most regressive state tax codes. Without an income or corporate tax, sales and fuel taxes pay for public expenses and levy a heavier burden on lower-income residents. Housing costs, transportation, health care, and food relative to salaries decrease affordable living in Washington State. Each minimum wage increase becomes absorbed by the cost of living for single workers and two working people in a home. Undoubtedly, the cost of living is a primary contributor to people experiencing homelessness.

  • Mental and Physical Health

Our State needs to address every aspect of the pursuit of happiness. Integrating mental health into primary healthcare should be our ultimate goal. Not only is there a lack of access to necessary medication and treatments for residents who need mental health services, but also resources for the average everyday person who just needs to vent. We must explore ways to help people become more active and productive in society. Too many Washingtonians endure a fractured healthcare experience like my son suffered as a child due to barriers that prevent access to needed surgeries. Our veterans serve our country but do not receive the treatment they deserve for their sacrifice. I will address medical insurance needs and explore issues not covered by healthcare insurance entities.

Liberty

According to the USLegal definition, “Liberty is the right to exercise the rights enumerated by the constitution or available or under natural law. The Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment declares that no State shall deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.”

I believe each individual is held accountable, not just to their creator, but to the law, for their choice that may or may not infringe on another.

  • Businesses

Education and Safety We must secure our schools and educate our children in safe environments. Parents have a right to know what is in their child's curriculum and have the right to opt out of anything deemed to go beyond the basic required education. Parents also have the right to challenge anything they feel is deceptive or infringes on their rights as citizens.

  • Guns

I am a law-abiding citizen with a CPL (concealed pistol license). Our government continually creates laws that never apply to or address the people, with no regard for the laws already in place. Why not fix the broken ones instead of creating punishments for those who abide by the regulations? There is a pattern of social media threats that are red flags. We must empower our communities to prevent mass shootings before such tragedies happen.

  • Reproductive Rights

Reproductive rights are unalienable rights. According to the Constitution, “…they are endowed by their Creator with certain (fixed) unalienable (not to be removed) Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

Pursuit of Happiness

It’s very simple. Do what makes you happy, as long as it does not infringe on others.

  • Remove the Labels that Bind Us

I will foster open and inclusive dialogues that debunks divisive stereotypes, empowering individuals to pursue their own unique paths to happiness. By breaking the barriers of prejudice and misinformation, we can amplify the voices of marginalized communities and ensure they have an equitable seat at the political table, where their concerns and aspirations can be addressed with fairness and empathy.

  • Unite Communities through Diversity and Nonpartisanship

I will unite communities by embracing diversity and nonpartisanship as fundamental principles. By creating an environment where people from all backgrounds feel valued and heard, we can create stronger bonds and understanding among community members. Through collaboration that transcends political divides, we can ensure that policies and initiatives reflect the needs and aspirations of all citizens, fostering a more harmonious and equitable society.

  • Public Finance and Budget Practices
I am committed to upholding responsible and transparent public finance and budget practices to safeguard the constitutional right of citizens, by providing clear and accessible information about how public funds are allocated and spent, we can empower citizens to hold their government accountable and actively participate in decision-making processes. Through fiscal responsibility and openness, we aim to ensure that public resources are used efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall well-being and happiness of our community.

Let us make Washington State the state where dreams come alive again. I want to remove the labels that divide us as a state and work together to build hope.
