Updated: May 29

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Seattle, WA – May 3, 2024 – EL’ona Kearney for Governor is proud to announce the hosting of a groundbreaking press conference titled "Breaking the Silence: A Press Conference on Mental Health Policy & Community Action." The event will take place on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Michael Okoro founded Limitless Apparel and Omni Sportswear.

As the gubernatorial candidate, EL’ona Kearney is dedicated to prioritizing mental health awareness and advocacy within her campaign. This press conference serves as an opportunity to shed light on critical mental health policies and initiatives that will be integral to her platform.

This cause is deeply personal to EL’ona Kearney, who, during her middle school years, faced the challenges of suicide and depression. She understands firsthand the struggles overlooked in our youth and the functioning depressed adults and is committed to advocating for comprehensive mental health support systems.

The event will commence with EL’ona Kearney addressing her campaign's mental health policy agenda, emphasizing the importance of destigmatizing mental health issues and implementing effective community-based solutions.

Following the policy discussion, the press conference will transition into a community walk, symbolizing unity and support for mental health awareness. Participants will distribute informational flyers and visit designated mental health stations along the walk route, engaging with local resources and raising awareness in the community.
